The Duluth Figure Skating Club invites the community to experience the excitement of the 46th Annual Northland Figure Skating Competition, taking place January 29 through February 1 in Duluth.
Northland 2026 brings together skaters of all ages—from young beginners stepping onto the competitive ice for the first time to experienced adult athletes pursuing new goals. Spectators will enjoy several days of dynamic performances, athletic jumps and spins, and expressive programs set to music across a wide range of events.
Whether you’re a longtime skating fan or new to the sport, Northland offers something for everyone. Come cheer on the athletes, support local skaters, and enjoy a competition that has been a proud Duluth tradition for more than four decades.
Keepin’ It 100
Registration is now open for the 2026 Duluth Figure Skating Club Ice Show, Keepin’ It 100. Packages range from $62.50–$125.00 and are available for Learn to Skate, Academy, and Club members.
Please select your registration package and complete payment online. After payment, be sure to fill out the registration form and download the practice schedule.
Learn to Skate and Academy families are encouraged to register early.

Young skaters start in Snowplow Sam 1 – 4 Learn to Skate is for skaters 3 – 5-year-olds that have never been on skates. Sign your skater(s) up for Snowplow Sam level 1 (SS1) and we’ll move them to the level that best fits their skills. Each level completed prepares ice skaters for the next level.
*Your skates and any bike, hockey, or snowboarding helmet required.
Next, ice skaters move on to Basic 1 – 6 Learn to Skate is for children new to skating ages 6 to 17 years old. There are 6 levels in the Basic Learn to Skate program. Students will be moved to new levels once the skills are mastered.
*Your skates are required and helmets are recommended.

Once a skater has passed Basic 2, they can add The Academy for figure skating skills or Hockey Skate to advance their learning.
Academy Skate is for skaters that have completed Basic 2 and want to accelerate their figure skating skills. Academy is a non-stop, fast-paced lesson that will help ice skaters master forward and backward crossovers, ice skating on one foot, and more.
*Your Figure Skates Required
The Hockey curriculum is designed for skaters that have completed Basic 1 to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn how
to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice.
*Your Hockey Skates Required
Free Skate is for figure skaters that have passed the Learn to Skate Program. This ice skating program provides training for a variety of intensifying skating skills like spins and jumps. Each level builds on the previous skills, providing skaters a solid foundation.
*Bring Your Figure Skates
You can join the club and hire a coach at any point in your skate journey. If you or your ice skater are ready to take your skating skills to the next level or want to compete, it’s time to join the Duluth Figure Skating Club as a member to hire a coach! Hiring a private ice skating coach is available for DFSC Member skaters at any level.
